Directed by Nwamaka Chikezie and written and produced by Brenda Ogbukaa-Garuba, To Adaego With Love is set five years after the Biafran War and follows Adaego, a spirited young mathematics teacher who accepts a posting to a military school within an army barracks. Her decision is met with fierce resistance from her family, who continue to bear the emotional scars of the conflict. The story deepens when Adaego crosses paths with Major Balarabe Alkali, a disciplined yet compassionate army officer tasked with the sensitive responsibility of rebuilding trust between Igbo communities and the Nigerian military government. What begins as a chance encounter evolves into a powerful connection that challenges the political, cultural, and emotional tensions of the era.

The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Adam Garba, Chisom Agoawuike, Chioma Chukwuka, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Riyo David, Demi Banwo, and Six Foot Plus. It also holds a significant place in Nigerian cinema history, marking the final screen appearance of the late music and film icon, Onyeka Onwenu. Her performance as Adaego's grandmother lends remarkable depth to the film, standing as a fitting tribute to her enduring legacy.

At its core, To Adaego With Love examines the complexities of intertribal marriage and the personal cost of reconciliation. Set during the “One Nigeria” era, the film explores the courage it takes for two individuals to love across the very lines that once tore a nation apart. Ultimately, To Adaego With Love is both a reflection on Nigeria’s history and a timeless testament to the power of human connection in overcoming institutional and societal divides.
