Mark your calendars for May 30, 2025, and prepare to experience a powerful, high-stakes drama on the big screen at a cinema near you!

Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution, in partnership with The Garden Theatre Company, is proud to announce the regional theatrical release of Over the Bridge, a powerful drama from acclaimed Nigerian director Tolu Ajayi. The film is set to debut in cinemas across French-speaking West Africa on May 30, 2025, and will be screened at Canal Olympia cinemas across the region.
Over the Bridge tells the gripping story of a successful professional whose life unravels after a government infrastructure project under his leadership collapses. Plagued by guilt and disillusionment, he disappears from his former life and embarks on a solitary journey of self-discovery and redemption.
The May 30 release will see the film screened across eight French West African countries: Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo, Gabon, and Guinea.
Featuring an outstanding ensemble cast including Ozzy Agu, Segilola Ogidan, Chimezie Imo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Akin Lewis, Toyin Oshinaike, Ropo Ewenla, and Joke Silva, the film is a poignant exploration of ambition, failure, forgiveness, and the search for purpose in modern Africa.
Directed by Tolu Ajayi, a celebrated filmmaker with a rich portfolio in both cinema and advertising, Over the Bridge is a landmark entry in the growing canon of prestige African cinema. The film has already attracted critical attention, having been featured in major media outlets such as Deadline, BBC: Focus on Africa, Voice of America, Mundo Negro, Africa Now, and The Nollywood Reporter. Reviews have also appeared in The Guardian UK, Okay Africa, Africa Is A Country, and The Africa Report. It was also screened at the prestigious Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) on February 28, 2025.
The May 30 release will see the film screened across eight countries: Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo, Gabon, and Guinea. Screenings will take place in both major urban centres and regional locations, offering diverse audiences an opportunity to engage with this thought-provoking story.
Distribution is being handled by Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited, a leading force in bringing African cinema to new audiences.
