Today, Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution commemorates its one-year anniversary with great enthusiasm. This milestone serves as a testament to our journey. Throughout the past year, we have fervently devoted ourselves to the distribution and promotion of diverse local and international film content. Our steadfast commitment to delivering compelling narratives to audiences across the nation and beyond has been unwavering. We take pride in having cemented our position as a notable presence within and outside the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Since our inception on Friday, February 9, 2023, Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution has been on a mission to redefine the landscape of the Nigerian cinema industry. In our maiden year of operations, we've shattered industry barriers and earned recognition for our dedication to delivering compelling, educative, and wholesome content to cinema screens across Nigeria.
As we reflect on our inaugural year, we are grateful for the support of our partners, collaborators, and audiences who have joined us on this remarkable journey.
Here's a glimpse into five landmark achievements we've proudly garnered:
1. Debut Film Release, "The Other One":
Our journey began with the release of "The Other One" in June, a gripping psychological thriller produced by Lillian Amah-Aluko and directed by David "Gee" Ahanmisi. Starring talents like Lucy Ameh, Kalu Ikeagwu, and Kelechi Udegbe, the film captivated audiences and garnered three nominations at the 20th Abuja Film Festival and six nominations at the Best of Nollywood Awards 2023, winning one category.
2. Collaboration with Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN):
In August, we announced a groundbreaking collaboration with the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN). This partnership aims to foster the growth of the Nollywood industry by empowering talented guild members with essential distribution knowledge, enhancing Nollywood's global presence, and bridging the gap between content creators and audiences on a global scale.

3. Sophomore Release, "Charlie and the Boys":
In another significant move, we released "Charlie and the Boys" in August, a thrilling heist adventure featuring Kanayo O Kanayo, Tina Mba, Sani Mu'Azu and Seun Ajayi in principal roles. Produced by Damn Good Studios and directed by Sele Got, this film further solidified our commitment to curating diverse and captivating cinematic experiences for our audiences.
4. Collaboration with Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA):
On August 30, 2023, we formally announced launch of a unique collaboration with Bolanle Austen-Peters' Terra Academy For The Arts (TAFTA). This partnership provides top-level training and hands-on industrial experience for young Nigerians within the creative and film industry. Graduates of TAFTA have the opportunity for a paid internship with Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited, facilitating the practical application of their acquired knowledge in a real-world setting.
5. Launch of International Operations:
Ending the year 2023 on a high note, we announced the launch of our international operations on November 28. With the release of "The Other One" (also known as "L’Autre Homme") in Francophone West Africa cinemas on December 1, we extended our distribution catalog to fourteen African nations, amplifying our reach and impact across the continent.
Over the past year, our success at Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution has been underpinned by our strategic approach to film distribution. We've leveraged innovative marketing techniques and forged robust partnerships within the industry. As our Chief Executive Officer, Anita Edwards, aptly states, "...our success is a testament to the diligent execution of our strategic vision and the unwavering dedication of our team."
As we reflect on our inaugural year, we are grateful for the support of our partners, collaborators, and audiences who have joined us on this remarkable journey. Looking ahead, our commitment to shaping the future of cinema remains resolute. We early anticipate providing enriching cinematic experiences for audiences worldwide and foresee further global expansion in the near future. We extend a warm invitation to film enthusiasts, industry partners, and the media to join us in celebrating this significant milestone. With optimism, we anticipate continued success as we strive to enhance our presence on the global stage.
